Tubes are same as tweed champs 6v6, 5圓, 12ax7- original Vintage RCA 5Y3, Electro Harmonix 6V6 and JJ tube 12ax7's. Enjoy the sound of your tubes working to their fullest at(somewhat) household volumes. Think of it as a tweed champ with a tone control and at a fraction of the price. That rice overdrive sound you hear on records isn't from a pedal, it's from low wattage Champs and Valcos running at 10. And now the important bit, these Valcos are a very similar circuit to tweed champs(imagine that) and therefore have that to die for tweed, low wattage saturation. Original 2 prong cord has been upgraded to grounded 3 prong for safety) runs very quiet. Features a tremolo as well as a tone control. Grill is very clean, controls show only minor playwear, covering is very clean with some very light staining on rear- no major nicks/tears. These were made by Valco and branded either with the Airline Label or unbranded for Montgumery Wards stores- it is the same amp as the Supro 16T. Item: Vintage 1964 Valco Airline Tube Amplifier Condition: Vintage Description: A vintage 1965 Valco 62-9029A Airline amplifier in excellent condition. I will over-pack it, remove the tubes and label each along with the chassis as to where it goes. I dont know if one can glue that back or something, but I just left it alone. Covering and the fiber-style"grill clothe" are all original, the leather handle was dry and broken when I got it but is still attached. I've enjoyed it but I really dont use it much, so time to let it go. Sounds really cool with a TS or similar overdrive in front of it. Volume and tone control(what more do you need, right? and away you go. There are 3 1/4" input jacks and each does sound slightly different form the other. This one needs nothing, ready to plug in and play. Has that great lo-fi but growling amp tone we all know from"department store" amps of the. But I do know when I gave it a check-up a couple of years ago he put some NOS tubes in there and checked out the rest on his tester and everything came back fine. It has a field-coil type speaker and some very unusual tubes that my tech says are usually found in TVs or radios but are common to amps of this era. I couldn't find hardly anything with a Google search on this amp. He figured he got in the early 50's and he played a really cool Gibson lap-steel through it. I bought this from the original owner in about 88 or so. If it doesn't go then i guess I was meant to keep it for a while.
